Maxine Bailey Maxine Bailey brings over thirty years of experience in nonprofit management and community development to her position as Executive Director of the Young Women’s Leadership Academy Foundation. Bailey is Co-Founder of the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy which is the first all girls public charter school in the state of Tennessee. Bailey spent a significant amount of time in New York where she served in a multitude of diverse social service organizations, including Vice-President of Operations for Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation and prior to that, as Vice-President of Youth Employment for the New York City Partnership. She also served as Director of Admissions for Wor-Wic Tech Community College in her home town of Salisbury, Maryland. Bailey came to Chattanooga to work with the Community Impact Fund and later became President and CEO of Girls Incorporated before accepting her current position. She holds an undergraduate degree in American Literature from Sarah Lawrence College and has pursued graduate studies in women’s history at Sarah Lawrence and the University of Pennsylvania.
